Mary Kay and a spider bite

I'm alive, I swear!  It has been nuts around here and I just can't seem to get my writing juices flowing!  Emma is a full on roller now, watch out everyone, she's on the loose!  AB is just talking up a storm and everyone is getting married right now.  I'm serious!  Carson (my youngest sister) is getting married April 14th and Olivia (Frank's older sister) is getting married memorial day weekend.  I am a bridesmaid in Carsons wedding and the girls are flower girls.  I was asked to be the matron of Honor in Olivia's wedding and Frank is marrying them.  The girls are getting a babysitter for that wedding... momma needs two hands!  So needless to say, I've been busy driving up and down 77 to charlotte and on the phone non stop with Olivia planning and what not.

On the lighted and super exciting note, I started my own business, selling Mary Kay!  My director talked me into going to the career conference last weekend in Charlotte... on my!  Besides the 2,000 alpha females rushing to get to the front, it was amazing!  To paint a clear picture, think of 13 year olds at a Justin Beiber concert (okay, I haven't been and could only imagine.  New kids on the block, yeah, I can see that!!).  All the make up, perfume, diamonds....

I will say, that I liked the make up before.  I liked the lipgloss and the perfume.  The mascara didn't make my eyes itchy, so I was sold on the mascara.  I didn't, however, know about the skin care.  Ya'll, it's amazing!  I reached into my bag and snagged some... I'm hooked!  I used some other drug store products before but I always felt like I was wearing a mask after I washed my face and used lotion.  But this stuff, this Mary Kay stuff, Oh. My. Word.  I felt like my skin could breath, all day.  My face wasn't super greasy at the end of the day and even with my makeup on, it was still light.

At the conference, there was one thing that was repeated over and over again.  Have goals.  So my fearless leader and director asked me what my goals were.  Here they are:
Make enough to stop cloth diapering.
Be able to afford cable and internet
Drive a pink escalade

My debut party is next Tuesday, at my directors house.  We are having a pedi piggy party!  If you live in the Charleston area, we'd love to have you.  Come on, free pedi's, YES PLEASE!  Email me at abbeyalden@gmail.com and I will give you the details and I promise not to make you buy something :)

This week, I'm working on building my personal MK website, so friends, family and clients can order directly off the website.  I can always order too!!

My director was going to come over today and we were going to work on some things together.  We had to cancel, AB got bit by some sort of spider and we spent the morning in Urgant care.  She's okay, but it's scary non of the less.

Are you ready?!?

So I guess there is at least one person that likes the way that I write... yahoo!  My friend Bonnie asked me to write for her today!  She has a really cute blog that just got overhauled by another friend of ours.  She stays at home with her little men and run a super cute etsy show!  Go and check her blog out and while you are there, you can read my ramblings there also!

Plus also, will you vote for us?  I haven't asked you to do so in a while and I would really appreciate it.  Now that this is the most body post ever, I hope that your Tuesday was not so lame and that you have a mellow Wednesday tomorrow!!

I was thinking about the ole blog and where I would like to see it go.  I feel like I have nothing sarcastic, motivating or a recipe to share.  To be honest, we are in a MAJOR menu rut.  And if I'm really honest, I would admit that I like to eat out more than I like to cook.  If only dinner was not in the middle of that witching hour.
I feel like I've told you all my funny stories and that every post is about my kids.  But that is all I do all day now, take care of those cuties.  I don't work anymore, so the crazy stories of ridiculous residents or insane clients from Saks are over.  Maybe memory lane?  Nah, it wouldn't be as funny now.

What do you want to read about?  Do you have a question?  I would love to answer it, I mean don't we all like talking about ourselves??

Okay, so here's the photos that you want....

Don't worry, there was a wrapper on it!

Emma from a few months ago... my my how she has changed!
Happy Sunday!

We're back.....

And here we are:

Okay, fine, it was taken on the plane.  What else can you do after 20 minutes into a movie and they are bored and you've exhausted all your toys and tricks and snacks... you play with photo booth, that is what you do!  Thank you apple and your cool ideas, i didn't have to buy anyone a $8 cocktail on the plane.  Thank you!

The flight went well, we flew southwest.  While they are AWESOME because you get to check 2 bags per paying customer and the tickets are cheap, you have to stop at least once.  Ahh, nerve racking.  Thankfully no one had ear drum drama and we made it safely and without any major melt downs.

What a week we had... we got there Wednesday night and just hung out.  Annabelle slept until 930am most mornings and we had to wake her up.  Thank you to the aunts and cousins that wore her out!

Thursday and Friday we just hung out, did life, got ready for the wedding and enjoyed meeting new family and friends that we had not met before.

The rehearsal dinner was Friday night and was not like what i was use to attending.  We wore jeans and some hoodies made an appearance.  Yes I said hoody and yes, I mean sweatshirt zip up kind.  Yes, you southern ladies, I was just as shocked!  My in laws are by far the best dressed in town, for sure!

Saturday was the big day!  Katie was gorgeous and there was some good food and dancing.  Frank married them and just knocked it out the park, or church.

They were sorta nice...

*In case you were wondering as to why we don't have any ceremony photos, it's because the Robertson women were sitting in the back and I was trying to keep the girls quiet, BAHAHAHA!!  As soon as Frank started talking, AB started yelling for him.  Oh my.  My bag of tricks was not working and we didn't even make it through the charge!  Oh well, lesson learned.  Don't take babes to a wedding.

Haidyn and her sister, Megan loved on our girls so much and played so well with them.  It was so sweet.   I love these girls so much and am so thankful for the tie we got to spend with them!  I wish we lived closer to them so that I could love on them more.  And their momma!
Haidyn and Annabelle
Frank cooked us some steak and chicken on the grill.  He did  not waste any time and enjoyed a cigar and beer... oh Frank, you make me laugh more and more each day!

It was a great trip and we were all sad to leave.  No really, the car was packed and we called AB, she literally pitched a fit in Nana's living room.  We all have been a little mopey since Wednesday night.

Oh these men...

We are in Texas, with family.  We are celebrating a new family that came about last night.  It was beautiful and I'm so excited to have a new brother in law!  I love weddings and I love that we got to participate in the festivities.

Frank preformed the ceremony for his sister and her husband.  Annabelle, Emma and I sat in the back, as soon as Frank started talking, Annabelle started saying "daddy, daddy, daddy"... oh my.  I ended up taking the girls out during the charge.  Oh well.  The reception was a blast and then we had an after party that was a great time here at the house.  Today has been awesome with lots of eating and just hanging out.  It has been a great vacation with lots of willing extra hands with the girls and some nice rest.  Maybe some pictures tomorrow?  For sure.

And here we go...
Happy Monday!

This weekend the girls and I high tailed it to Charlotte to attend one of  Carson's (my youngest sister) wedding showers.  It happened right during nap time. so Annabelle stayed behind with my dad and hung out with him.  They went to go see the airplanes take off and land, apparently she was totally into it.  Emma Kate and I went with to the shower and Emma was the hit of the party!  It was the dress, I'm sure!

But Friday night, oh let's talk about Friday night and how I did not earn mother of the year that night!  Cynthia (my step mom), Annabelle and I were playing the hall way and AB started to cough (nothing abnormal) and then all of the sudden, she projectile vomitted all over the place.  I started to laugh, seriously, I wish I was kidding.  I didn't know what to do.  Thank goodness Cynthia was there and took over.  I stripped her down and we threw her in the sink, thinking what the heck is going on?  Then again it happened, in the sink.  It went on for a while.  Each time she would cry afterward telling me she was hungry.  I called the doctor and with her orders, AB went to bed with no dinner.  She slept all night and then woke up at 6:15 am telling me she was hungry and ate a huge breakfast and another breakfast around 9am and then another snack around 10:30.

I was worried about Emma Kate getting it, but I think that she is the one that gave it to everyone.  On Thursday she was projectile vomitting but she is on the flip side of acid reflux so I thought, at the time, that maybe it was a flair up.  Now I'm sure it was that ninja virus.

My dad called today to tell me that he, Cynthia and one of my cousins was sick... great!  During christmas when we were there, we brought them that horrible sinus thing and now this.  We are never going to be able to come back to visit!

On the lighter note....

My friend Bonnie relaunched her blog and launched her etsy shop.  Doesn't it look great?!?  She made this for us, and I love it... now if only we can stay home long enough for me to hang it!  I'm so excited that she did it!  It is so pretty and the photos she took just do not do justice.  It is made so well and will be a part of the girls room, well, until they refuse to wear bows.  THANK YOU BONNIE!  She is also doing a giveaway on her blog.  It ends on Friday... go get over there and enter for some goodness!!

Friday, March 2, 2012

We have a 6th member of our clan.  There's me, Frank, Annabelle, Emma Kate, Dallas (the k9) and lovey.  While most people would argue that you have to be a mammal to cast a role in a family, I would beg to differ.  We talk about lovey, make out with lovey, tell him we love him and so on.  He gets bathed on a regular basis (sometimes involuntary tosses into the bathtub, but hey, what can you do... he should speak up!).  There are 4 lovey's at our house, 2 at my parents house, in the safe.  I'm not kidding, ask them.

So why is he a member of our family?  He eats with us at every meal, gets AB's first sip of drink and food to eat.  Annabelle is the best momma to this thing.  He goes EVERYWHERE with us.  When she was first given lovey, I said "only in the crib"... haha, I want to punch that Abbey in the face.  He makes a regular appearance in photos and there is usually one found tucked in a corner somewhere.

Here is where I have found a lovey in the last week:

  • Under the seat of the car
  • under the open dishwasher door
  • Laundry pile and I did not put him there
  • behind the crib (AB must have taken several to bed one time because we would have known about other wise.)
  • Emma's bed
  • Stroller that was folded up.
  • By the curb
  • In the bath tub (not wet, just hanging out)
  • high chair
  • in front of the cooler at Caviar and Bananas (we didn't know she tossed it and we retraced our steps)
  • Behind the counter at the Tervis tumbler store (insert same story as above)

Happy Friday!

Thankful Thursday

Today, on this Thursday, I'm thankful for this lady:

My sister.  My best friend.

If something happens to Frank and I, the legal guardian of my children.

The one who has stood by me in the good times and the hard ones.

The one who loves her family mightily and will do anything for them.

Emily, I love you.
